Delayed sleep phase disorder.
That's what I just happened to stumble onto.
I can't recall a time when I slept on a "normal" schedule for more than a week or two. Every time, though, it's always been forced. It goes alright for a few days or so. Nearly normal, and then suddenly, the tossing and turning for hours. Which, in turn, screws up the whole thing and I'm quickly back to night owl schedule. If it's not tossing and turning, it's just the lack of being tired at all, and the whole anxiety about going to bed when I'm fairly certain it won't work well.
It seems that this delayed sleep phase disorder fits quite well, even though it states that people keep a fairly regular schedule. It says that people with sleep apnea may have more irregularity with the zonking out. But if schizophrenia/schizoaffective/bipolar type stuff effects it, I see it being spot on.
I'm sitting here like "WHOA!!!"
Insomnia just doesn't quite fit. It's such a broad term, anyway.
It just occurred to me that I have to thank this weird insomnia type thing for finding out about this weird insomnia type thing. I've been up, looking through advice animal meme blogs and found a post on it and was curious.
Curiosity did not keel the kitty. Curiosity just led the kitty to stay up longer, researching staying up longer.
Yup... It's clear I've been up a bit.
